Hello! I am Myst Saori and I will be your guide to be a dangerous Ikarus player.

_

Who is Ikarus?

Ikarus is a light tank with the ability to transform into a jet. He can fly to spot enemies, do damage, or escape vulnerable situations. He is very versatile and can be a key asset to most battles.

_

How to Play

Ikarus is a very difficult tank to play correctly. He has no armor, not much health, and once you're spotted you have to find cover or you're dead.

Angling:

There's not much you can particularly do to angle Ikarus, you have no armor to angle; however, it is best to have your tank point towards enemies if they are going to shoot you. This is because they won't be able to shoot your modules as easily since they can't see them.

The 3 Ikarus modules are his flight modules (on both his left and right sides), his thrusters (on the back of his tank), and there's his tracks.

Shooting:

Ikarus has 4 shots per chamber. They fire in quick succession then you have to reload your clip. In turn Ikarus has very bad dispersion (shot accuracy). You can lower dispersion through the tech tree, and you can wait a second between shooting each shot instead of spraying and praying.

It is best to shoot slowly for more accuracy at long-medium ranges, but it's better to unload the entire clip at short ranges.

Stealth:

You may think Ikarus's best strength is his ability to shoot many shots with decent damage in a short amount of time but you'd be wrong. Ikarus thrives when people don't know where he is. Since Ikarus doesn't have much health, it is crucial to not be seen. If you are seen, sometimes you can die instantly if caught out of position. The best strategy for Ikarus is to stay out of sight and spot the enemy team.

Ikarus's primary strength is his stealth. You can simply support your team by spotting all the enemies, or you can try to get into their backline to do some good damage.

You have the most amount of the stealth in the game as Ikarus, so utilize it. Out-Spotting people is the best way to victory, and with Ikarus you can easily spot people without them seeing you, so use that to your advantage.

Spotting:

With the fact that Ikarus can out spot people, you should focus - especially early game - to spot the enemy team so both you and your teammates know where they are and can formulate a plan on what to do next.

DO NOT get overconfident when spotting. You could go to spot at some point and over extend, and someone in a bush could light you, which means their entire team can shoot at you. (Especially dangerous if in the air)

When spotting you should be around a lot of cover, or in a bush. Don't try to shoot people while you're primarily spotting because they would then know where you are, and you just end up giving up a good position to spot.

Cover:

Throughout playing with Ikarus you'll have many instances where you need to find cover. Don't have a big ego and send it, you'll die. If you get spotted in a bush, pull back and have teammates cover you for you to get back into a better position. If you're in the air and get spotted, duck down into an area for cover (between rocks, a ravine, etc). Always keep in mind where people are AND where they could be.

Every time you are spotted you should always find somewhere to hide for the spot to wear off. Afterwards try to be careful and move to a new position, or fly out.

Being spotted as an Ikarus is something you never want to happen. Try to stay unseen as much as possible. That way they keep wasting time trying to find you in places you used to be, and so they will never know your next move.

Attack:

Ikarus actually has the most amount of DPM in the game, some builds even being broken overpowered. One of the things you'll need to learn as Ikarus is when to get damage. After enough spotting you should precision aim at one of the enemies and get ready to do a lot of damage. If you're in a good spot you can usually get a couple rounds off before needing to move, but be careful. If you're facing competent people, the second you start firing they will try to find you and hunt you down. So you only want to do damage when it's time. Stay on the move while staying in cover so they don't find you, and if you have the energy sometimes it's better to fly out of there.

Since you have low pen, try to focus on most light tanks and a couple medium tanks. Always aim for their modules for more damage and to try and disable them.

Overview

Stay unseen and spot people safely. Be around cover and get into cover when needed. Do damage at the right times and keep your opponents guessing where you could be.
