General

New Vehicle: Vanguard

  • More info in the Vehicles section

Vision Changes

  • Firing from bushes now reveals you less
  • Getting spotted inside a bush now takes longer as a function of your tank’s Camouflage.
  • With a Camouflage of 6% (Donor), it will take 0.6 seconds
  • With a Camouflage of 39% (Evrand), it will take 3.9 seconds
  • If you fire from inside a bush and your detection radius extends past an enemy with line of sight of you, you will be spotted instantly
  • When you enter a bush, you will now see a new dotted circle around you on the minimap that shows you exactly how far your detection radius will extend if you fire
  • The intention here is to provide you with the information you need to make informed sneak and snipe decisions
  • We’ve also added more bushes and general locations for sneakily extending vision or sniping to maps

Design Note: The intention for these changes is to better enable light tanks to fulfill their role of projecting vision, sneaking around the map, and harassing enemy heavy tanks. If you’re curious to check out how much Camouflage each tank has, you can find it in the new vehicle details tab in the pilots menu (discussed below).

Components

  • New component: Stable Rangefinder - Reduces time to enter precision aiming by 85% but takes 8 seconds to engage after a completed reload
  • Unlocked by Evrand (Drone), replaces Fabricator
  • New Component: Extended Gearing - Increases Max Speed and Hull Traverse Speed by 20% after driving for more than 8 seconds
  • Unlocked by Donor (Ram), replaces Adaptive Hardening

Shell Charger

  • Duration extended to 12 seconds
  • Max stacks reduced to 3 from 4
  • Shell damage increase reduced to 6% per stack from 7.5%

Quick Slot

  • Reload reduction increased to 10% from 7.5%

Weakness Analyzer

  • Reload reduction increased to 1 second from 0.65 seconds

Energy Expander

  • Now increases your Max and Starting Energy by 50% (previously doubled your Max Energy)

Fabricator

  • Now generates 3 Secondary Shells every 60 seconds (previously generated 2 Secondary Shells on power-up capture)

Movement

Hover Vehicles

  • Hoverdrifting (spacebar) no longer takes throttle or strafe input during the drift

Shooting

  • Shots aimed at open air (like when aiming at a VTOL flying through the air) will now travel more straight to the reticle instead of getting an extreme shell arc (since it was calculating towards an essentially infinite distance)

Ammunition

Siphon Shells

  • Now heal you for 2.5% of your target’s current health (previously healed for 50% of the target’s current energy)

UI

  • There is now an armor viewer in the main menus that lets you examine the armor profile of each vehicle

Design Note: The armor viewer is still in-development and not final.

  • The Pilot screen now has a detailed stats list for each vehicle

Design Note: Hull and Turret armor summary numbers are still in the works

Audio

  • Updated Repulsor engine and ability sound effects
  • Updated environment destruction sound effects
  • Base capture audio now ramps up in intensity at 50% (previously happened at 80%)

Maps

Fields

  • More visual refinement
  • More bushes added to certain areas to assist light tanks in their scouting role

Ravine

  • Significant changes were made to the map based on feedback.
  • The eastern side has been reworked into a more covered corridor that can control vision over the sand dune ridge, which is one of the strongest sniping positions on the map.
  • More bushes and cover have been added throughout the map.
  • There should now be more opportunities for progressing across the map but also react to the opposing team’s movements with counter positioning and angles.

Sandbox

  • Added a line of bushes to the left side for testing camo rating

Vehicles

New Vehicle: Vanguard

  • A quick and sneaky light tank able to launch guided sticky missiles. Effective at slowing enemy movement and chipping down heavy armor.
  • Ability: Launch an ATGM that embeds itself into hit surfaces. Embedded missiles can be shot, dealing 150 damage to nearby enemies and creating a slowing field.

Design Note: Vanguard is in very early-stage prototyping, so we look forward to your feedback as we shape it into a viable competitor.

Arbalest (Siege)

Tech Tree

  • Hoverdrifting Acceleration - Changed to Max Speed tech option

Brawler (Mine)

  • Adjusted pike nose armor to be correctly pennable when not angled, on 80mm pen and higher
  • Turret Traverse Speed decreased to 21 deg/s (down from 25 deg/s)
  • Max Health decreased to 1600 (down from 1750)

Tech Tree

  • Module damage - Point allocation reduced to 3 from 5
  • Reload Time - Reduced to 0.2/0.4/0.6/0.8/1 from 0.32/0.64/0.96/1.28/1.6
  • Max Health - Rescaled to 60/120/180/240/300 from 105/210/315
  • Repair Speed - Rescaled to 8/16/24/32 from 6/12/18/24/30

Cooper (Stealth)

  • Shell Damage increased to 275 (up from 245)

Tech Tree

  • Hoverdrifting Acceleration - Changed to Hoverdrift Damping, which amplifies Camouflage by 10%/20%/30% while hoverdrifting

Evrand (Drone)

  • Dispersion penalties and aim speed have been improved

Tech Tree

  • Increasing Secondary Shell tech option to 3/6/9 from 2/4/6

Ikarus (VTOL)

Reduced low energy gliding

  • Turning bleeds off more energy
  • Needs more energy to stay in flight
  • Flight mode levels out more aggressively after turning

Tech Tree

  • Stealth Flight - Camouflage retained increased to 30% from 25%

Kwame (Repulsor)

  • Visual refinement on the ability VFX

Ranger

Tech Tree

  • Large scale overhaul with the goal of providing more compelling options and different ways to configure the tree

Rika (Blink)

  • Aim Speed increased to 0.7 deg/s (up from 0.55 deg/s)
  • Base dispersion decreased to 0.2 deg (down from 0.22 deg)
  • Camouflage increased to 30 (up from 27)

Tech Tree

  • Hoverdrifting Acceleration - changed to Max Speed tech option

Sentinel (Smokewall)

  • You can cancel your smoke wall by pressing F again

Tech Tree

New Keystone Techs

  • Smoke Wall Haste: Increases the Speed of unspotted allies near the smoke wall by 20%
  • Blinding Wall: Enemies that touch the smoke wall have their vision reduced by half for 10 seconds

Ranger

  • Shell damage increased to 195 (up from 180)

Tech Tree

  • Large-scale overhaul

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug that caused some tech options related to Aim Speed to not work correctly
  • Performed a host of varied, smaller fixes that impacted gameplay, performance, and stability
